Here is an update on scheduling and what Calvary is doing to help everyone stay healthy during this COVID-19 pandemic.  To help all of our members do what they feel is best for them and their families, we are making options available for everyone; therefore, effective this Sunday we will be following this new schedule for the next two weeks:

Sunday @ 9 AM – Senior Saint Service Only (Ages 60+ only will be permitted to attend).  We will meet in the auditorium on the first front center 7 pews.  In a critical time where those who are 60+ are at the highest risk,  we want to make sure our seniors have peace of mind and comfort in knowing that if they choose to attend church, they can do so safely and not worry about a large group of people being around and running the risk of becoming sick.  No nursery will be provided during this service.

Downtown Ministry @ 10 AM - The Jacksonville Downtown Bus will run at it's normal time and meet at 10 am in the Miller Building. The downtown group will meet at 10 AM eat their lunch and then leave to go home. They will not attend the 11 AM service.

Sunday @ 11 AM – Service for all other Adults, Young Adults, Children & Teens.  Our buses will continue to run; however, just at a later time. Children (1st-6th) will meet in Rager Hall for Jr. Church and all other Adults and Teens will meet in the main auditorium for service.   We will have a nursery for this service only.  However, if you have little ones that have runny noses, cough, fever, or other sickness they will not be permitted in the nursery.  This is for the safety of our nursery workers and other little ones. Our preschool department will meet all together (3-5 year olds) in the large room in the right winged hallway (Bro. McMullin’s Sunday school class).

To help minimize the spreading of germs, we will not use the songbooks or pass the offering plate for these Sunday AM services. The lyrics to our hymns will be on the screens and your offering can be dropped off at the front of the church auditorium in the offering plates.

Sunday PM & Wednesday PM @ 6 PM – We will have house church fellowships.  We have 6-7 families in our church who will be hosting church at their homes for small groups of members to attend.   We will divide up our members on where to attend based on your location.  On Sunday evenings the house churches will meet at 6 PM for announcements, singing, testimony, offering and then at 6:30 will tune into our live stream service at church to hear Pastor Pledger preach.  On Wednesday evenings the house churches will have a Bible study brought to them by the leader of each of those groups.  The house churches should dismiss no later than 7:30 PM.  The church house leaders will be in contact with members to invite you to their home and get involved.

On these nights as well, we will also have a service for our seniors (60+) at our church location in the main auditorium where Pastor Pledger will give a sermon/bible study.

All of our services will be live streamed here on our church website or on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Should you choose to attend our services via live stream, you may also give your tithes and offerings online via our giving portal at  https://calvarycares.net/giving/.

At Calvary, we believe that life is better when we live with Christ at the center of everything we do.  We strive to lead people into an authentic, life-changing and eternity-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Nobody is perfect, and no one is expected to be.  But through the work of the Holy Spirit, we strive to be more like Christ and less like ourselves.

We strive to be just that, a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls and for the most part that is true. We hope to have you join us.

We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. This idea would not be possible without grace. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken. We have all sinned, and will continue to sin. We must love the sinner not cast them out.

Calvary Baptist Church

Pastor Pledger has been with Calvary Baptist Church for more than 30 years now. He loves the Lord, and is an amazing teacher, preacher and pastor. Outside of the ministry, Pastor Pledger's passion is his family.  If he is not spending time with his wife, he can be found doting on his grandkids.

Bro. Tim is the Associate Pastor, and does a wonderful job coordinating all of our outreach ministries. He has a heart for serving and will most often be found outside of the church reaching the lost for Christ.  He is a diehard Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loves to play golf.

Our mission at Calvary Baptist Church is to glorify God by introducing Jesus Christ to as many people as possible and to develop them in Christian living using the most effective means to impact the world, making an eternal difference in Clay County and around the world.

We are distinctly a Baptist church.  That means that we believe in that the Bible has the final authority for faith and practice, the autonomy of the church, the priesthood of the believer, two ordinances - believer's baptist and the Lord's supper, individual soul liberty, that church members must be saved and baptized, that there are two scriptural offices in the church - pastor and deacon, and the separation of church and state.

Take a look into all the ministries we offer. We feel as if there is a ministry for everyone. We would love it if you would join us!
