Dr. Ken Pledger, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church can best be described as a faithful, loving, King James Bible believing preacher with an old time gospel message for this dying world. His heart felt prayer is for people to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become actively involved in a Bible believing and preaching church that cares for them.
God has allowed Calvary Baptist Church to reach many heights since he became pastor in 1986. Under his leadership the church runs over 300 in attendance each week. The church reaches out to Clay, Duval, and Bradford counties through a thriving bus ministry running 10 bus routes each week. The church’s worldwide missions program currently supports about 84 missionaries each month. We also have church wide soul winning several times each week. The church is also home to Calvary Christian Academy which serves grades K-5 - 12th and provides Bible-based education for the children of our church and community. In 2008 we started our own in house missions program called “All Nations Outreach Ministry” (ANOM). Since that time, 42 members from Calvary have taken the gospel to 130 different countries, encouraging local pastors and churches, starting new churches and have had over 188,000 people saved.
Dr. Pledger was born in Altus, Arkansas. He was saved in November of 1967 and he was called to preach and trained under Dr. Tom Malone at Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan. He and his wife, Barbara have three children, Stacy, Chris and Tim. He and Mrs. Pledger are the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
